HTR1A (5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A) belongs to the 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor subfamily of the 7-transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor 1 (GPCR1) family.  HTR1A acts as a receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a multifunctional neurotransmitter, and for various drugs and psychoactive substances. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of downstream effectors. HTR1A plays a role in the regulation of 5-hydroxytryptamine release and in the regulation of dopamine and 5-hydroxytryptamine metabolism, thus affecting neural activity, mood and behavior.  HTR1A is also implicated in the response to anxiogenic stimuli.  Inactivation of the HTR1A gene in mice results in behavior consistent with an increased anxiety and stress response. Mutation in the promoter of the HTR1A gene is associated with menstrual cycle-dependent periodic fevers (PFMC).

Construct Details: Full length human HTR1A gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without a selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
