GRPR is a member of the 7-transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor 1 (GPCR1) family and acts as the receptor for gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP). GRP regulates many functions of the gastrointestinal and central nervous systems, including release of gastrointestinal hormones, smooth muscle cell contraction, and epithelial cell proliferation and is a potent mitogen for neoplastic tissues. These activities are mediated through GRPR that activates the phospholipase C signaling pathway, resulting in Akt phosphorylation. GRPR contributes to the regulation of food intake and the perception of prurient stimuli.  It transmits itch signals in the spinal cord that promote scratching behavior. GRPR is aberrantly expressed in multiple cancers such as those of the lung, colon, and prostate.

Construct Details: Full length human GRPR gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without a selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
