PROCR (protein C receptor) or CD201 is a single pass type I transmembrane protein that acts as a receptor for activated protein C, a serine protease activated by and involved in the blood coagulation pathway. PROCR binds activated protein C and enhances protein C activation by the thrombin-thrombomodulin complex.  PROCR plays a role in the protein C pathway controlling blood coagulation.  Mutations in the PROCR gene have been associated with venous thromboembolism and myocardial infarction, as well as with late fetal loss during pregnancy. PROCR may also play a role in malarial infection and has been associated with cancer. A soluble form of PROCR exists which is probably released by a metalloprotease and seems to have the same activity as the membrane-bound form.

Construct Details: Full length human PROCR gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without an antibiotic selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
