SLC34A3 (sodium-dependent phosphate transport protein 2C) or NaPi2c is a 8-pass type II transmembrane protein belonging to the SLC34A transporter family. SLC34A3 acts as a type II sodium-phosphate cotransporter. SLC34A3 is expressed primarily in the kidney and contributes to the maintenance of inorganic phosphate concentration in the kidney. SLC34A3 is involved in actively transporting phosphate into cells via Na+ cotransport in the renal brush border membrane. SLC34A3 probably mediates 20-30% of the apical influx.Mutations in the SLC34A3 gene are associated with hereditary hypophosphatemic rickets with hypercalciuria (HHRH), an autosomal recessive form of hypophosphatemia characterized by reduced renal phosphate reabsorption and rickets.

Construct Details: Full length human SLC34A3 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without a selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells. It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.
