S1PR2 (sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 2), also known as S1P2 and EDG5, is a 7-transmembrane protein of the G protein-coupled receptor 1 (GPCR1) family.  S1PR2 is a receptor for the lysosphingolipid sphingosine 1-phosphate (S1P) that is a bioactive lysophospholipid that elicits diverse physiological effect on most types of cells and tissues including proliferation, apoptosis, motility, and neurite retraction.  S1P acts both intracellularly as a second messenger and extracellularly as a receptor ligand. S1P and the structurally related lysolipid mediator lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) signal cells through a set of GPCR known as EDG receptors. Some EDG receptors (e.g., EDG1) are S1P receptors; others (e.g., EDG2) are LPA receptors. Defects in the S1PR2 gene have been associated with congenital profound deafness, autosomal recessive, 68 (DFNB68), a form of non-syndromic sensorineural hearing loss. Sensorineural deafness results from damage to the neural receptors of the inner ear, the nerve pathways to the brain, or the area of the brain that receives sound information.

Construct Details: Full length human S1PR2 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without an antibiotic selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
