ULBP3 (UL16 binding protein 3) is a ligand of natural killer group 2, member D (NKG2D), an immune system-activating receptor on NK cells and T-cells. ULBP3 is a GPI-anchored glycoprotein that belongs to the MHC-I family of Immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF).  Binding of the ligand including ULBP1, ULBP2 and ULBP3, to NKG2D leads to activation of several signal transduction pathways, including those of JAK2, STAT5, ERK and PI3K kinase/Akt, resulting in the production of cytokines and chemokines. ULBP3 does not bind to beta2-microglobulin but interacts with human cytomegalovirus/HHV-5 protein UL142. ULBP3 has lower affinity for NKG2D compared to ULBP1 and ULBP2 and induces weaker signaling responses than does ULBP2 or ULBP1.

Construct Details: Full length human ULBP3 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
