Selection Marker

Description

CD93 is a single-pass type I transmembrane protein and a member of the calcium dependent C-type lectin superfamily.  CD93 contains 1 C-type lectin domain and 5 EGF-like domains in the extracellular region. CD93 was originally identified as a myeloid cell-specific marker and was thought to be a receptor for C1q.  CD93 may be involved in intercellular adhesion and in the clearance of apoptotic cells. CD93 is highly expressed in endothelial cells, platelets, cells of myeloid origin, such as monocytes and neutrophils but not expressed in cells of lymphoid origin. CD93 interacts with HCV core protein.  CD93 also binds C1QBP; the association may represent a cell surface C1q receptor. The intracellular cytoplasmic tail of CD93 may interact with moesin, a protein known to play a role in linking transmembrane proteins to the cytoskeleton and in the remodelling of the cytoskeleton.

Gene Symbol: CD93; C1QR1; C1qRP; CDw93; ECSM3; MXRA4; C1qR(P); dJ737E23.1

NCBI Gene ID: 22918

Uniprot Entry: O9NPY3

Construct Details: Full length human CD93 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without a selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Vector Type: pLTC or pLTC-IRES-Marker (lentiviral expression vector containing a heterologous CMV promoter, see the vector map above)

Formulation: Supplied with 10 μg of endotoxin-free plasmid DNA at 200 ng/μl in sterile TE buffer (pH8.0)

Primers: Gene insert coding sequence can be confirmed by following primers:

(a) forward (or 5'-end) primer: 5’-CAAATGGGCGGTAGGCGTG-3’;

(b) reverse (or 3'-end) primer: 5’-CCAGGTTTCCGGGCCCTCAC-3’

Note: The sequence may vary due to the naturally occurring variants or mutations, such as single nucleotide polymorphism, or the artifact during PCR amplification.  High fidelity PCR systems should always be used.
