Human TGFBR3/BGCAN Lentivirus, Full-length Gene in Lentivector, Pre-packaged Lentiviral Particles
The TGFβ (transforming growth factor β) superfamily proteins are pleiotropic cytokines that regulate a diverse range of cellular processes, including proliferation, differentiation, migration, adhesion and death. The TGFβ superfamily elicits 4 signaling pathways: TGFβ, Bone Morphogenic Protein (BMP), Activin, and Nodal. Each pathway signals through a heteromeric receptor complex composed of at least two type-I and two type-II transmembrane receptors containing cytoplasmic serine/threonine kinase domains. These receptors are distinguished by the presence of a glycine/serine-rich juxta-membrane domain found only in the type I receptors. Either type receptor may initially bind ligand, followed by the recruitment of an alternate-type receptor counterpart to form a signal-activating complex. TGFBR3 (TGFβ receptor 3), also known as BGCAN and Betaglycan, is a transmembrane proteoglycan with a large extracellular domain and a short cytoplasmic domain that lacks an obvious signaling motif. TGFR3 functions as a co-receptor with other TGFBR superfamily members. It may be involved in capturing and retaining the ligand for presentation to the signaling receptors. TGFBR3 binds TGFβ2 with the highest affinity and other TGFβ isoforms with lower affinities. Cellular responsiveness to TGFβ2 is dependent on the presence of TGFBR3. Ectodomain shedding produces a soluble form of TGFBR3, which binds TGFβ and exhibits antagonistic activity. Reduced expression of TGFBR3 has been observed in various cancers. Genetic variations in TGFBR3 are associated with Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) disease and Behcet's disease (BD).
Gene Symbol: TGFBR3; TGFBRIII; TGFBR-3; TGFR-3; TGFR-III; BGCAN; betaglycan
NCBI Gene ID: 7049
Uniprot Entry: Q03167
Construct Details: Full length human TGFBR3/BGCAN gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells. It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles.
Vector Type: pLTC (lentiviral expression vector containing a heterologous CMV promoter, see the vector map above)
