Description

CEACAM16 (carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)-related cell adhesion molecule 16) is a secreted glycoprotein of the CEA family of the immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF). Members of the CEA family consist of a single N domain, with structural similarity to the Ig variable (IgV) domains, followed by a variable number of Ig constant-like 1 (IgC1) and/or 2 (IgC2) domains. Human CEACAM16 contains 2 C2-type (IgC2) domains with multiple sites for glycosylation. CEACAM16 is localized to the tip of cochlear outer hair cells and to the tectorial membrane.  CEACAM16 is required for proper hearing with a role in maintaining the integrity of the tectorial membrane. Defects in the CEACAM16 gene likely are a cause of non-syndromic autosomal dominant hearing loss, 4B (DFNA4B).

Construct Details: Full length human CEACAM16 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without a selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

 

Vector Type: pLTC or pLTC-IRES-Marker (lentiviral expression vector containing a heterologous CMV promoter, see the vector map above)

 

Formulation: Supplied with 10 μg of endotoxin-free plasmid DNA at 200 ng/μl in sterile TE buffer (pH8.0)

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months.
