Description

MR1 is a major histocompatibility complex class I-related gene protein.  It is a single pass type I transmembrane glycoprotein that belongs to the MHC-I family of Immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF). MR1 contains 1 Ig-like C1-type motifs (1 IgC1) in the extracellular domain (ECD) in addition to a transmembrane (TM) domain and a cytoplasmic tail. MR1 heterodimerizes with B2M, this interaction is required for surface expression.  MR1 is an antigen-presenting molecule specialized in presenting microbial vitamin B metabolites. It is involved in the development and expansion of a small population of T-cells expressing an invariant T-cell receptor alpha chain called mucosal-associated invariant T-cells (MAIT).  MAIT lymphocytes represent a small population of T-cells primarily found in the gut. The presentation may activate the MAITs to regulate the amounts of specific types of bacteria in the gut.

Construct Details: Full length human MR1 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles.

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
