GPR183 (G-protein coupled receptor 183) is a 7 transmembrane receptor belonging to the G protein-coupled receptor 1 (GPCR1) family.  GPR183 was identified by the up-regulation of its expression upon Epstein-Barr virus infection of primary B lymphocytes. GPR183 is most closely related to the thrombin receptor. It is expressed in lymphocytes to act as a chemotactic receptor for B-cells, T-cells, splenic dendritic cells, monocytes/macrophages and astrocytes.  GPCR183 is a receptor for oxysterol 7-alpha, 25-dihydroxycholesterol (7-alpha, 25-OHC) and other related oxysterols.  Binding of 7-alpha,25-OHC mediates the correct localization of B-cells during humoral immune responses.  Its specific expression during B-cell maturation helps position B-cells appropriately for mounting T-dependent antibody responses.  GPR183 collaborates with CXCR5 to mediate B-cell migration.  GPR183 also acts as a chemotactic receptor in dendritic cells that mediates the accumulation of CD4+ dendritic cells.  GPR183 regulates migration of astrocytes and promotes osteoclast precursor migration to bone surfaces.

Construct Details: Full length human GPR183 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without a selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
