C17orf87 (chromosome 17 open reading frame 87) also known as SCIMP (SLP adapter and CSK-interacting membrane protein) is a single-pass transmembrane or lipid-anchored protein.  C17orf87 may act s a lipid tetraspanin-associated transmembrane adapter/mediator involved in major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II signaling transduction. C17orf87 is required in generating the calcium response and enhancing ERK activity upon MHC-II stimulation.  Together with MHC-II, C17orf87 associates with lipid-enriched microdomains called tetraspanin-enriched microdomains (TEMs). It rapidly translocates into immunological synapse (IS) at cell-cell contacts between antigen-presenting cells (APCs) and T-cells. C17orf87 is colocalized with tetraspanins CD37, CD53, and CD81 at the uropod. It is present at regions of cell-cell contacts but also at the leading edge of migrating cells.

Construct Details: Full length human C17orf87 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter and with or without an antibiotic selection marker, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles. Multiple choices of a stable antibiotic selection marker are available.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
