LILRA5 (Leukocyte immunoglobulin like receptor A5), also known as CD85F and ILT11 (Immunoglobulin-like transcript 11), is a member of the leukocyte immunoglobulin (Ig)-like receptor (LIR) family of the Ig superfamily (IgSF).  LIR family members are known to have activating and inhibitory functions in leukocytes.  It belongs to the subfamily A class of LIR receptors (LILRAs), which are single-pass type I transmembrane proteins with 2-4 extracellular Ig-like domains, a transmembrane domain (TM), and a short cytoplasmic tail. LILRA5 contains 2 Ig-like C2 type domains in the extracellular region. LILRA5 may play a role in triggering innate immune responses. But it does not seem to play a role for any class I MHC antigen recognition. LILRA5 is expressed mostly in tissues of the hematopoietic system, including bone marrow, spleen, lymph node and peripheral leukocytes. Among leukocytes, monocytes and neutrophils express the highest level. It is expressed in CD14+ monocytes, but not in T-cells, B-cells or natural killer (NK) cells Crosslink of LILRA5 on the surface of monocytes has been shown to induce calcium flux and secretion of several proinflammatory cytokines, which suggests the roles of this protein in triggering innate immune responses.

Construct Details: Full length human LILRA5 gene is subcloned into the Lentiviral expression vector pLTC with an upstream CMV promoter, which can be used for both transient and stable expression in mammalian cells.  It can be co-transfected with the LentiPAK DNA mix (SKU# LP-001) into HEK293 cells to produce high titer lentiviral particles.

Storage

 

The product is shipped at 4°C. Upon receipt, centrifuge the product briefly before opening the vial. It is recommended to store small aliquots at the temperature below –20°C for long-term storage and the product is stable for 6 months. 

 

 

Use a manual defrost freezer and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
